Axe Forging
While technical courses are fun, the Toronto Blacksmith axe workshop was one of the most rewarding learning experiences I’ve had. Starting with a solid block of steel, the axe shape was forged through many strikes of a sledgehammer and then the blade edge heat treated and sharpened. It’s not easy work to make metal move, but it sure is addicting!

Baking
When I have spare time or need a break from staring at computer screens, I love to get in the kitchen and do some baking! Even if they don’t turn out great the first time, I enjoy challenging myself with increasingly technical recipes.

Machining and Welding
UofT pairs with George Brown to offer introductory machining and welding courses to all engineering students, and I’m very glad to have enrolled. I got to learn how to use a lathe and milling machine in order to make a mini pneumatic engine, and got to practice stick welding and oxy-acetylene welding/cutting/brazing.

Travel
It’s a big wide world, and I plan to explore as much of it as I can 🌎
Australia – Melbourne to Sydney

Greece – Athens, Santorini, Meteora, Delphi

Montréal – CSA Visit

Europe – Germany, Switzerland, Italy
